Purpose/Summary of Position: Responsible for overseeing the collection process, especially of overdue accounts, and ensuring that the organization s financial goals are met. This role plays a crucial role in managing a team of collections specialists, developing strategies to improve collections performance, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Main/Primary Responsibilities: Supervise and train collections staff to ensure adherence to company policies and effective collection techniques. Develop and implement strategies to avoid bad debt, reduce delinquency (SPG/Overdue%) and resolve shortpayments. Analyze collections data and trends to identify areas for improvement. Monitor aging reports and manage AR to identify delinquent accounts and shortpayments to guide commercial teams for resolution. Initiate appropriate collection actions, including phone calls, letters, meetings and negotiations with clients. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to collections practices. Review and update company policies and procedures related to collections. Maintain positive relationships with clients while pursuing collections. Resolve disputes or issues related to overdue accounts in a professional manner. Prepare and present regular reports on collections performance to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Work closely with other departments, such as finance, sales and customer service, to ensure a cohesive approach to collections. Collaborate with legal teams when necessary to address accounts that require legal action. Utilize collections dashboards and tools to track and manage collections activities. Stay updated on new technologies and methods to enhance the efficiency of the collections process. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to: Take proactive approaches to tasks and decision making, anticipating challenges Set ambitious, clear goals with measurable outcomes Understand and proactively address customer needs Develop and empower team members through mentorship, support, and engagement Maintain a growth mindset, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and the ability to embrace challenges Key/Required Qualifications and Experiences: Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. 8 years of previous experience in collections, finance, or credit management, with at least 2-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collections software. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing collections. Solid understanding of free cash flow and accounting principles, including CFIs. Strong people management skills.
