Job Description

Lead and grow the new Bengaluru site for the Google Global Networking (GGN) Engineering Productivity organization.
Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and creating an effective organizational structure fostering delegation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Achieve business goals for the team, ensuring alignment with the global GGN Engineering Productivity mission and GGN priorities.
Establish strong partnerships and influence across organizations and geos, particularly within GGN and with teams in India.
Set and align stakeholder expectations.
Ensure sound technical direction for projects undertaken by the Bengaluru team.
Guide, vet system designs, review code, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Collaborate closely with teams in other sites (Sunnyvale, Cambridge) to ensure consistency and leverage of tooling and infrastructure.
Contribute to documentation and educational content.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in software development.
Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in building developer tools, test automation frameworks, or infrastructure to improve engineering productivity.
At least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role and 2 years in a people management or team leadership role.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required for working with globally distributed teams.
Experience in the Networking domain is preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
