Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Emotional Support:
Offer empathy and psychological support to patients and families dealing with illness, trauma, or chronic conditions.
Counselling Sessions:
Conduct individual or group therapy sessions to address anxiety, depression, grief, or adjustment issues.
Patient Education:
Help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and coping strategies.
Crisis Intervention:
Provide immediate support during emotional or psychological crises.
Healthcare Navigation:
Assist patients in accessing medical services, financial aid, and community resources.
Collaboration:
Work with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and social workers to develop and implement treatment plans.
Documentation:
Maintain confidential and accurate records of counselling sessions and patient progress.
Advocacy:
Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to ensure patient needs are met.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and active listening.
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Problem-solving and crisis management abilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in clinical or hospital settings preferred.
