Computer Lab Assistant

A University Computer Lab Assistant JD includes providing technical support for hardware and software, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, assisting users with software and hardware, managing inventory, and ensuring lab safety and security. Key qualifications often include a degree in Computer Science or a related field, strong communication skills, and experience in IT support, networking, and software installation. Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Provide assistance to students and faculty with computer usage, software installation, and troubleshooting of hardware/software issues.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, repair, and adjustment of computer hardware, printers, projectors, and other lab equipment.
• Lab Operations: Monitor the computer lab, ensure its cleanliness and safety, and enforce procedures for equipment and software use.
• Software & Hardware Installation: Install, configure, and maintain desktop software and hardware, including operating systems, office suites, and network peripherals.
• Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of lab equipment, supplies, and consumables, and place orders for replacements.
• User Guidance: Instruct users on the proper use of lab equipment and software and assist with tasks like printing and accessing online resources.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field is often required or preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with hardware maintenance, networking (LAN/WAN), and various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) is essential.
• Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer problems, escalating complex issues to higher-level support.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral communication skills to provide instruction and support to diverse users, and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
