Computer Hardware Technician

--- Job Title: Hardware and Network Engineer Department: IT / Infrastructure Location: Bangalore Reports To: IT Manager / Infrastructure Head Employment Type: Full-Time --- Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardware and Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving our organization's hardware systems and network infrastructure. You will ensure high levels of availability, security, and performance for all IT systems and network components. --- Key Responsibilities: Hardware Support: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral hardware. Diagnose and repair hardware issues for PCs, laptops, servers, and other IT equipment. Maintain inventory and manage procurement of hardware components. Conduct routine preventive maintenance and ensure hardware lifespan optimization. Network Management: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks. Manage switches, routers, firewalls, and access points. Monitor network performance and implement upgrades as necessary. Ensure network security through firewalls, VPNs, and other protective measures. Respond to and resolve network outages and connectivity issues promptly. System Administration Support: Support Windows/Linux servers and Active Directory administration. Assist in backup strategies, storage management, and system updates. Support IT infrastructure during installations, migrations, or rollouts. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams. Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry best practices. --- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 2+ years of experience in hardware and network support roles. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Hands-on experience with Cisco, HP, Mikrotik, or similar network equipment. Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Familiarity with ITIL practices is a plus.
