Job Description

Role Summary

PAN-India regulatory, statutory, labour, POSH, safety, and operational compliance

Key Responsibilities

A. Statutory & Legal Compliance (Showrooms)

  • Ensure showroom-level compliance with:

    Shops & Establishment Act, Labour Laws, Contract Labour Act, Legal Metrology, Pollution Control, Fire & Safety, Weights & Measures

    , and other retail-related regulations.
  • Manage end-to-end PAN-India licensing:
    • Shop & Establishment Registration
    • Trade License
    • 365-day store opening exemptions
    • Fire NOC, Lift License
    • Pollution Certificates, Signage permissions, Municipal approvals
  • Maintain compliance trackers ensuring

    100% renewal timelines

  • Handle inspections, audits, notices, and coordinate statutory clarifications with authorities.

B. Labour Law Compliance & Vendor Governance

  • Verify compliance of store-level service providers (security, housekeeping, FM vendors):

    PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Minimum Wages, ECR reports

    , etc.
  • Execute and manage contracts/agreements for third-party vendors.
  • Handle grievances, labour issues, and coordinate with legal teams for court matters.

C. Training, Audits & Reporting

  • Conduct compliance training for store managers and retail staff.
  • Publish monthly/quarterly compliance dashboards for leadership.
  • Ensure readiness for external inspections through internal audits.
  • Continuously upgrade compliance processes and digitization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree –

    B.Com / BA / BBA

  • MBA/LLB preferred

  • Certification in Labour Laws, Compliance, Industrial Relations, or ISO (added advantage).

Experience & Skill Requirements

  • 7–15+ years

    in Statutory & Legal Compliance —preferably in

    Retail, Jewellery, FMCG, or Logistics

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    PAN-India retail regulatory frameworks

    .
  • Experience dealing with Govt. bodies: Labour offices, Municipal corporations, Police, Legal Metrology, Fire Dept., BIS.
  • Excellent MIS skills (Excel), documentation ability, vendor management, and negotiation capability.
  • Exposure to incident investigation, audits, and legal coordination.
