Job Description

Communications Lead


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy and media outreach
  • Lead content creation for all external channels – website, social media, newsletters, blogs, reports, and press releases (Canva, Adobe Suite, Mailchimp etc)
  • Understanding of development sector ecosystem and stakeholder management
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials and platforms
  • Collaborate with program teams to highlight impact stories and amplify fieldwork
  • Support internal communications and organizational announcements
  • Curate content for newsletters, blogs, impact reports, and donor decks
  • Translate research and data into powerful, accessible stories
  • Proficiency in content writing, video scripting, and social copy


Qualifications

  • Experience with communications in policy, development, or education sectors
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in the development/social sector
  • Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, WordPress, and Canva
  • Graphic design, basic video editing or video production skills a plus
  • Experience managing websites, social media, and digital campaigns
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
