Job Description

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items as per recipes and quality standards
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fruits, vegetables, and meats
Plate and present dishes under the supervision of senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures (e.g., HACCP, USPH standards)
Monitor food stock levels, report shortages, and assist with inventory management
Receive, unpack, and store food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation
Discard expired or spoiled food items and minimize waste
Cooperate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and knowledge
Adhere to company policies, including portion control and cost management

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary certificate or diploma is preferred
12 years of experience in a similar role is advantageous
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work under pressure and for extended hours, including weekends and holidays
Good communication and organizational skills
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
