Coal Trading Consultant (International Markets)

About the Role

We are building a coal trading platform focused on simplifying sourcing, logistics, and delivery for domestic and international buyers. To move in the right direction from day one, we are looking for an experienced Coal Trading Consultant who can guide us through the full setup process—market understanding, regulatory requirements, supply chain planning, contracting, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Advise on setting up an international and domestic coal trading business.
• Help identify potential supplier regions, mining companies, and brokerage networks.
• Guide us through import/export regulations, compliance, and documentation.
• Structure contracts (SPA, CIF/FOB terms, LC, BG, escrow workflows).
• Outline logistics workflows including freight, ports, inspection agencies, and storage.
• Support in designing the operational model for our upcoming coal trading platform.
• Provide insights on pricing models, market benchmarks, and risk management.
• Recommend required team roles, tech integrations, and processes for scalability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in coal trading or bulk commodity trading.
• Strong understanding of international trade (ports, customs, freight forwarding).
• Knowledge of coal grades, sampling/inspection, and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with Indian import norms and global supply markets (e.g., Indonesia, Australia, South Africa, Russia).
• Experience with digital trading platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work on a short-term consulting/contract basis.
