Cloud Operations Engineer

This role involves delivering high-quality work independently while coordinating with onsite and offshore teams and mentoring junior members when needed. As part of the Engineering team, the Cloud Operations Engineer supports the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI. The focus is on enabling teams to deliver high-performing software solutions using modern tools, cloud services, and best practices.

Key responsibilities include managing cloud deployments, handling ITSM tickets and service requests, triaging and resolving L1 and L2 incidents, and providing operational support across multi-cloud environments. The engineer ensures adherence to cloud principles, security standards, and solution requirements while collaborating with architects, application owners, and project teams. The role also includes researching emerging cloud technologies, recommending improvements, assisting with onboarding of cloud solutions, and supporting cloud costing, pricing, and RFP responses.

The position sits within a business transformation and engineering team working in an agile environment to build and operate cloud-based solutions for industries such as supply chain, BFSI, CPG, and retail. The team blends commercial and open-source technologies to deliver hosted and managed solutions for clients.

• 3+ years of experience in large-scale cloud or virtualization environments
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, computer science, or related field; cloud certifications preferred
• Strong experience with cloud-native services, multi-tenant security, and IaaS (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, etc.)
• Hands-on knowledge of IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, Config, and similar tools
• Networking and security expertise including VPCs, NACLs, security groups, peering, Route 53, and virtual appliances
• Experience with Linux or Windows deployments, relational and non-relational databases, DevOps tools, and CI/CD
• Ability to troubleshoot complex multi-platform issues, lead projects, and work with global teams
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-changing, complex technical environment
