Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Chief of Flight Safety, based in Delhi.

The roll requires you to do the following:

1. Ensuring that a Flight Safety Manual is prepared which describes the airline's safety policy & procedures that all employees are familiarized with this Manual and comply with the same.
2. The Flight Safety Manual is reviewed and amended periodically so that its contents are in compliance with the current requirements/changes.
3. Establishing a reporting system which provides for a timely and free flow of safety-related information.
4. Maintaining the air safety occurrence reporting database.
5. Monitoring corrective actions and flight safety trends.
6. Co-ordinating the DGCA Mandatory Occurrence Reporting requirements.
7. Soliciting and processing safety improvement suggestions.
8. Developing and maintaining a safety awareness programme.
9. Liaising with the heads of all departments company-wide on flight safety matters.
10. Acting as Chairman of the Company Flight Safety Committee, arranging its meetings and keeping records of such meetings.
11. Disseminating flight safety-related information company-wide.
12. Maintaining an open liaison with manufacturers' customer flight safety departments, government regulatory bodies and other flight safety organisations world-wide.
13. Assisting with the investigation of accidents; and conducting and coordinating investigations into incidents.
14. Carrying out safety audits and inspections.
15. Maintaining familiarity with all aspects of the Company's activities and its personnel.
16. Reviewing and evaluating adequacy of the emergency response plan.
17. Planning and controlling the Flight Safety budget.
18. Managing or have oversight of the Flight Data Analysis / Flight Data Monitoring Programme.
19. Publishing the periodic Company flight safety magazine.
20. Participation in corporate strategic planning. 

Qualifications

Having a current Indian ATPL/ CPL with type rating(s) appropriate to the applicable type.Total flying experience should be 500 hours flight time including total 300 hours experience as pilot-in-command. 

1. A broad aviation/technical education.
2. A sound knowledge of commercial operations, in particular flight operations procedures and activities.
3. Experience as a flight crew member preferably on type of aircrafts operated by the company or Aviation Engineer
4. Experience in aircraft accident/incident investigation, safety audits and accident prevention work of minimum ten years.
5. The ability for clear expression in writing.
6. Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
7. Computer literacy.
8. The ability to communicate at all levels, both inside and outside the Company.
9. Organisational ability.
10. To be capable of working alone (at times under pressure).
11. Good analytical skills.
12. To exhibit leadership and an authoritative approach.
13. Be worthy of commanding respect among peers and management officials.
