Chief Manager/AGM - HSE

• The Safety Manager will lead our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives across our steel processing and heavy engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies aligned with corporate objectives, emphasizing proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
  Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable safety regulations and standards, ISO 45001, and local statutory requirements. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments; implement effective control measures to mitigate identified risks. Incident Management: Lead investigations of accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; develop and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Training & Development: Design and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels, promoting awareness and competence in safety practices. Safety Audits & Inspections: Plan and execute regular safety audits and inspections; monitor compliance and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans; conduct drills and training to ensure readiness for potential emergencies. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of operations. Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety; report on safety performance to senior management and stakeholders.
• Education & Experience
  Education: Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent.
• Experience: 15 18 years of progressive experience in safety management roles within steel processing or heavy engineering industries. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial safety management, with a proven track record of implementing robust safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

  Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and safety management systems. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams; strong communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing safety data, identifying trends, and implementing datadriven improvements.
• Preferred Attributes
  Experience in implementing Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs. Familiarity with advanced safety technologies and digital tools for safety management.
