Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at OculusIT, your primary responsibility will be to oversee Information Technology operations, management, strategy, and business processes on a day-to-day basis at our client site in Kansas, USA. You will work towards ensuring that OculusIT's IT service delivery adds maximum value to our client and facilitates the achievement of institutional goals. Reporting to OculusIT and the client's leadership, you will lead and manage the IT department, serving as a strategic advisor to college leadership on all technology initiatives. Your role will involve overseeing and strategically implementing the organization's IT strategic plans, security, systems, applications, infrastructure, and policies and procedures. You will align technology initiatives with the organization's goals and objectives to drive innovation, modernization, growth, efficiency, and customer service. It is essential to maintain a commitment to advancing technology solutions to meet the needs of today's technology-savvy students and shape client expectations regarding technology services. Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and management onsite at the client location of the assigned IT department. - Understand the statement of work (SOW) and full terms of the contract between the client and OculusIT. - Manage the contract/account against the contract budget in collaboration with OculusIT. - Oversee IT applications, infrastructure, end-user computing, client support, and projects. - Set objectives and strategies for the IT department to optimize strategic benefits. - Develop business cases and provide suitable technology options to streamline internal operations. - Collaborate with the OculusIT team to design, implement, and customize IT systems and platforms. - Facilitate the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to client IT staff. - Work closely with the OculusIT team to review and approve purchases of equipment and software. - Monitor and ensure optimal performance of computer and network infrastructure. - Guide and organize IT-related projects to enhance customer experience. - Stay updated on technology advancements to leverage competitive advantages. - Assess team performance using industry-standard metrics and adjust resources accordingly. - Resolve escalated issues promptly and maintain service levels consistently. - Establish efficient work processes and procedures for issue resolution. - Serve as the escalation point for issues and ensure timely resolution. - Coordinate the resolution of complex issues involving multiple technical resources. - Develop and maintain documentation, policies, procedures, and internal training materials. - Log all service tickets and projects into the tracking application. - Build and maintain client departmental relationships. - Provide technical product training and user functionality training when necessary. - Collaborate with the OculusIT NOC & SOC for infrastructure uptime, security monitoring, and reporting. Requirements: - Proven experience as a CIO, Director of IT, or similar IT management role. - Excellent knowledge of higher education IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. - Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation. - Strong understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations. - Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities. - Strategic and business mindset with excellent organizational and leadership skills. - Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. - BS/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MS/MA preferred.,
