Charted Accountant

Location: Mumbai

Reporting To:

Position Overview:

The position is responsible for leading the organizations financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong fiscal governance. Acting as a key advisor to the MD & CEO, the CFO provides strategic insights to guide decision-making and support sustainable growth.

The role covers financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, audits, and risk management, while ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial reporting. The CFO also oversees capital allocation, resource optimization, and alignment of financial operations with organizational goals, while leading a finance team and engaging with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

a.

  • Partner with senior leadership to drive financial planning, capital allocation, and growth strategy.
  • Lead financial due diligence, scenario planning, and investor presentations.
  • Manage unit economics and improve gross and contribution margins across business units.

b.

  • Build and lead a high-performing FP&A function.
  • Develop financial models to track efficiency, scalability, and ROI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, etc.) to influence business performance.

c.

  • Oversee statutory audits, tax filings, and applicable regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate MIS, P&L, and cash flow reporting.
  • Implement internal controls and automation for financial processes.

d.

  • Manage commercial contracts and vendor/client documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and coordinate with legal counsel.
  • Develop scalable compliance frameworks and risk mitigation policies.

e.

  • Mentor finance and legal teams to foster ownership and business-first thinking.
  • Align compensation strategies, ESOPs, and incentives with business goals.

f.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of business development and sales strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for the CEO and Board, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or a fully qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is mandatory; an MBA is an added advantage.
  • 15-18 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Experience in the public sector or government-linked enterprises preferred
