Job Summary
The Head Finance will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company's paper packaging manufacturing operations. The role includes overseeing financial controls, cost optimization, capital planning, compliance, and supporting business growth through sound financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives
- Advise the Board and senior management on financial performance, risks, and growth opportunities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
Manufacturing & Cost Control
- Monitor and optimize
manufacturing costs
, including raw materials (paper, pulp), energy, labor, and logistics - Analyze
cost of production
, yield, waste, and efficiency metrics - Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or compliance
Financial Operations
- Oversee accounting, treasury, taxation, and financial reporting functions
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and credit control (receivables & payables)
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and audit processes
Capital & Investment Management
- Evaluate capital expenditure (CAPEX) for machinery, plant upgrades, and expansion
- Manage debt, financing, and banking relationships
- Conduct financial feasibility and ROI analysis for new projects
Business Growth & Commercial Support
- Support pricing strategies, customer profitability analysis, and contract negotiations
- Provide financial insights for new markets, products, or capacity expansion
- Partner with operations, procurement, and sales teams for data-driven decisions
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the finance and accounts team
- Implement ERP and financial systems improvements
- Promote financial discipline and transparency across the organization
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as
CFO/GM
, finance officer or relevant role - In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. ERP)
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organizations liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Control and evaluate the organizations fundraising plans and capital structure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organizations operations
- Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.)
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Set up and oversee the companys finance IT system
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
- Manage team of financial controllers and financial analysts.
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
- Ability to think strategically and execute operationally
- Strong and demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to improve processes and the overall employee experience
- Strong process experience and ability to identify process failure points and fix them

Qualification:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Must be a Chartered Accountant
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
- Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
- Working knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit
