CCB EMEA KYC Checker

The Small and Medium Business (SMB) KYC Ops team is a crucial AML/KYC support and control function within the ISG O&T group at Citi. Your primary responsibility will be conducting due diligence and approving KYC Records and associated documentation in collaboration with Relationship Management and Compliance teams. As a KYC Checker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of KYC records submitted by KYC makers. Your responsibilities will include checking assigned KYC records for adherence to Global KYC policy and local requirements within defined SLAs. You will also collaborate with Case Managers to discuss work-in-progress KYC records and provide feedback to enhance the overall quality. In addition to operational tasks, you will provide support to Operations Head, Team Lead, and case managers in completing KYC records, as well as assist in performance appraisals and developmental needs assessment for junior staff. It will be essential for you to develop coverage/succession plans and provide continuous support to SMB KYC Ops colleagues, Relationship Managers, and Sales Assistants regarding KYC-related queries. Your communication and reporting skills will be crucial in managing upward communication, tracking time logs, monitoring operational metrics, and ensuring accurate time tracking in the PTS system. You will also be responsible for maintaining the KYC workflow tool, coordinating with Local Compliance to identify new requirements, and tracking KYC documentation completion to minimize past dues. To excel in this role, you should have 4-5 years of work experience in banking practices and compliance requirements, with a University degree preferably in Business/Finance, Math, Economics, Engineering, Optimization, or Law. Your ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing environments will be key to success. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, or Greek is advantageous. ACAMS certification is a plus. Overall, your co-operative, proactive, and detail-oriented approach, combined with strong analytical and communication skills, will be essential in contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the SMB KYC Ops team at Citi.,
