Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement or buying, particularly within fruits, vegetables, or grocery segments for retail environments.
• Demonstrable knowledge of fruits (Mandatory skill), including seasonality, varieties, and sourcing best practices for quality assurance.
• Comprehensive understanding of vegetables market dynamics, supply chain logistics, and the ability to evaluate freshness and quality.
• Proven experience in handling end-to-end sourcing processes, negotiating with suppliers, and onboarding new vendors to diversify procurement channels.
• Vendor management capabilities, including building and maintaining partnerships, addressing issues, and ensuring on-time order fulfillment.
• Ability to analyze market trends and pricing to optimize purchase costs and support category profit goals in the grocery vertical.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to facilitate effective deals and maintain healthy long-term vendor relationships.
  

Roles And Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and procure a wide range of fruits (Mandatory skill) and vegetables from farmers, wholesalers, and aggregators to ensure consistent supply for stores.
• Establish long-term relationships with vendors and partners while evaluating their reliability, quality, and pricing to maximize value for the company.
• Monitor market trends, analyze current demands, and adjust procurement strategies to maintain price competitiveness and superior product quality.
