About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for F&V, groceries, and staples.

Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement.

Maintain optimal stock levels by coordinating with warehouse and store teams.

Analyze market trends, seasonal variations, and price fluctuations to plan purchases.

Ensure quality standards are met for all perishable and non-perishable items.

Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and vendor performance reports.

Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and timely payments.

Monitor supply shortages and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.

Work closely with category managers to forecast weekly and monthly purchase requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

Graduate degree preferred (any discipline).

2 years of experience

Strong knowledge of F&V sourcing, grocery and staples purchase processes.

Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

Strong analytical and market research ability.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (added advantage).

Preferred Candidate Profile

Experience in hypermarkets, supermarkets, or wholesale procurement.

Ability to manage multiple categories simultaneously.

Strong network of local vendors in Chennai (advantage).
