Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for automobile components, emphasizing composite structures
• Create CAD models aligned with design requirements and performance specifications
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Workbench, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, or PATRAN to ensure structural integrity and optimize designs
• Evaluate and iterate designs through simulation results and experimental validation
• Plan and execute necessary experiments to gather data for design inputs and improvements
• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and collaborate with drafting teams to produce precise engineering drawings
• Design and analyze joints, assemblies, and interfaces considering material behavior and load paths
• Incorporate AI-based advancements in simulation and design optimization where applicable
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet design-for-manufacturing (DFM)standards and integrate seamlessly into production
  

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 5+ years of experience in structural and composite design within the automotive or allied engineering domains
• Proficiency in one or more FEA software tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Workbench, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, PATRAN, Siemens NX, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of composite materials, including micro and macro mechanics, classical laminate theory, and failure theories
• Solid grasp of strength of materials, mechanical and structural design principles, and finite element methods
• Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or equivalent programming tools for automation and analysis
• Familiarity with composite manufacturing methods and design-for-manufacturing best practices
• A B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering disciplines, with strong academic performance (top-tier institutions preferred)
• Analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving and innovation
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across design, analysis, and manufacturing teams
