Formulate the respective categoryProcurement Strategy

Track supply market dynamics and global trends in the respective categoryof Direct items
Understand the likely impact on sourcing operations in the immediate andmedium term
Conduct ongoing supply market analysis
Develop detailed supply market profile of all materials under his/hercontrol
Provide inputs for formulation ofProcurement Strategy for category under his/her control including:

Vendors
Pricing/ Cost
Contractual Relationships
Lead Time
Inventory Levels etc.

2 Guide Buyer/Senior Buyer inUndertaking respective Category Management related activities like:

Undertake category portfolioanalysis, and classify items into bottleneck, strategic, routine, leverage etc.
Prepare internal cost estimates(ICE)
Consolidate / optimise category-wisespend across the Organisation
Explore alternative sources ofprocurement
Standardize contract templates andSLAs and obtain approvals

3 Provide inputs for AnnualProcurement Planning & Budgeting

Conduct annual requirementplanning of respective category of Direct items, based on Annual business Plan
Provide pricing inputs for developmentof an Annual Procurement Budget
Prepare a basis for the pricinginputs by conducting ongoing category market analysis
Review the approved Budget andmake necessary changes in the respective Annual Materials Plan
Analyze spend vs budget on aregular basis to capture variations, and develop actions plans to bring spendunder control, if required
