Job Summary: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing and sourcing of goods, services, and supplies required for retail operations. This role involves developing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, managing procurement budgets, ensuring timely availability of products, and maintaining cost efficiency without compromising on quality. Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s retail goals. Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers. Ensure availability of products in required quantities to meet sales demand. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. Monitor vendor performance, delivery timelines, and service quality. Inventory & Supply Chain: Work closely with inventory and supply chain teams to avoid stockouts or overstocking. Forecast demand based on sales trends and seasonal requirements. Optimize inventory holding costs. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards. Analyze market trends and competitor pricing. Track procurement spends and prepares reports for management. Team & Collaboration: Lead and guide procurement staff. Collaborate with store operations, finance, and logistics teams for smooth functioning. Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical and decision-making ability. Knowledge of retail supply chain and inventory management. Proficiency in ERP systems / MS Excel. Vendor management and relationship-building skills. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred). 5–8 years of experience in procurement, preferably in retail/FMCG sector.
