Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Documentation :

• Gather, document, and validate comprehensive business and functional requirements for data and BI projects.
• Author detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and user stories.
• Create visual aids such as wireframes and process maps using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
• Lead requirements workshops to gain clarity and alignment from all stakeholders.
  

Data & Technical Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, BI, and data science teams to ensure requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
• Utilize SQL for data exploration, validation, and to support development teams.
• Apply knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and Lakehouse architecture concepts, including star/snowflake schema designs, to inform project design.
  

Stakeholder Management & Process

• Communicate complex technical and functional concepts effectively to non-technical business stakeholders.
• Play a key role in an Agile/Scrum environment, facilitating smooth collaboration within cross-functional teams.
• Provide expertise in BI system integration and reporting workflows, with a specific focus on Power BI.
  

Required Skills

Core Experience :

• 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in data or analytics-centric projects.
• Proven experience in a data-focused environment, demonstrating an understanding of BI semantic models.
  

Technical Proficiency

• Strong experience writing BRDs, FRDs, and user stories.
• Solid understanding of SQL for data exploration and validation.
• Proficiency with project and documentation tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  

Data Concepts

• Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse concepts.
• Knowledge of domain-specific systems (Sales, Marketing, Finance) and KPI frameworks.
• Understanding of data governance, data lineage, and self-service analytics enablement.
  

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Power BI-based BI solutions and Lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with process mapping tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
