Reporting To: Managing Director / Group CEO
Department: Coffee Estate & Agro Division
Experience Required: 15+ years in agribusiness/plantation management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

Role Summary:

The Business Head – Coffee Estate & Agro Division will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership of the coffee estates and allied agro operations. This role requires a strong understanding of plantation management, sustainable agricultural practices, commercial acumen, and team leadership to drive profitability, productivity, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute long-term business strategies for the Coffee Estate & Agro Division aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify growth opportunities through crop diversification, value addition, and export markets.
• Lead sustainability initiatives across estates, ensuring adherence to global certifications (Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, Organic, etc.).

2. Estate Operations & Agronomy:

• Oversee all aspects of estate operations including coffee, pepper, and other intercrops.
• Ensure high standards of agricultural practices – pruning, planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Implement modern agronomic techniques and mechanization to improve yield and quality.

3. Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage annual budgets, P&L, and financial forecasts.
• Monitor cost efficiencies, optimize resource utilization, and maximize profitability.
• Develop Capex and Opex plans in line with strategic priorities.

4. Supply Chain & Sales Coordination:

• Collaborate with the sales and marketing team for pricing strategies and sales of coffee and other agro products (domestic & export).
• Ensure timely post-harvest processing, quality control, and logistics coordination.
• Maintain relationships with traders, exporters, auction houses, and certification bodies.

5. Team & Stakeholder Management:

• Lead and motivate large on-ground estate teams including estate managers, agronomists, and workers.
• Drive training and development programs to upgrade skills across operations.
• Engage with local communities, labor unions, and government authorities as needed.

6. Compliance & Sustainability:

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, labor, and environmental regulations.
• Drive ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives and sustainability reporting.
• Maintain certifications and audits required for global exports.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Plantation Management / Agribusiness.
• MBA or equivalent qualification in Business Management is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale plantations, preferably coffee estates.
• Strong commercial, operational, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively and spend time across estate locations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kolkata, West Bengal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
