Job Description

Business Development Manager Merchant Acquisition

Experience:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and target

    category-wise merchants

    selling products online, ensuring alignment with business growth strategy.
  2. Lead the entire merchant acquisition cycle – from

    prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals

    to successful onboarding.
  3. Drive

    structured onboarding programs

    and provide training to merchants on using the portal for product listing, order management, and delivery fulfilment.
  4. Develop and deliver

    high-impact presentations and sales pitches

    tailored to partner needs, demonstrating strong value propositions.
  5. Build a deep understanding of Autope’s services, payment solutions, and the merchant’s product categories to create

    customised business solutions

    .
  6. Conduct

    market research, competitor benchmarking, and category analysis

    to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive advantages.
  7. Collaborate closely with

    Technology, Marketing, and Operations teams

    to ensure smooth integration and successful go-live of partnerships.
  8. Manage and nurture long-term

    strategic alliances and partnerships

    , ensuring sustained growth and mutual business success.
  9. Track performance metrics, monitor merchant activity, and

    implement initiatives to maximise merchant engagement and sales

    .

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Marketing, or related field (

    MBA preferred

    ).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in

    E-Commerce, Merchant Acquisition, or Business Development

    , preferably in the payments or fintech ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of

    closing high-value partnerships

    and delivering revenue growth.
  • Strong

    consultative selling, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

    .
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to

    engage CXO-level decision makers

    .
  • Strong communication skills –

    fluent in English (written & verbal)

    .
  • Proficiency in

    MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

    and working knowledge of CRM/sales automation tools.
  • Good understanding of

    digital marketing, category management, and e-commerce business models

    .
  • Self-motivated,

    result-driven professional

    with strong problem-solving ability and a passion for business growth.
  • Ability to work both

    independently and cross-functionally
