Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing the tendering process, overseeing contract-related activities, and supporting commercial growth. The role requires strong experience in construction contracts, proposal/tender preparation, and professional correspondence with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction projects (Roads and Highways).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
  • Conduct market research to track industry trends, and upcoming projects.
  • Prepare business strategies to achieve company growth targets.

Tendering & Bidding

  • Manage end-to-end tendering processes, including EOI, prequalification, RFQs, and bids.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with estimation, technical, and finance teams to prepare competitive and compliant bids.
  • Ensure timely submission of tenders with complete documentation.

Contract Management

  • Assist in contract review, negotiation, and finalization with clients and partners.
  • Monitor contract terms, conditions, variations, and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support resolution of contractual issues and disputes in coordination with legal and project teams.

Letter Drafting & Documentation

  • Draft professional letters, proposals, contract correspondence, clarifications, and meeting minutes.
  • Prepare formal communications to clients, consultants, suppliers, and authorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, tenders, and official correspondence.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with project managers and senior management on business development activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on leads, tenders, contract status, and business performance.
  • Support management in negotiations and client presentations.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Min

    10 years of experience

    in business development within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in

    contract management, tendering, and bid preparation

    .
  • Strong background in drafting professional letters and contractual documents.
