Job Title: Business Development Lead RTC, FDRE, BESS & Renewable Energy Projects

Location:

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Business Development Lead to spearhead growth in RTC, FDRE, standalone BESS, and renewable energy (solar/wind/hybrid) segments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying business opportunities, structuring commercial offerings, driving partnerships, and navigating regulatory frameworks in Indias evolving energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Development:

    • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in RTC, FDRE, and BESS projects with C&I, utility, and government stakeholders.
    • Analyze tenders (e.g., SECI, DISCOMs) and develop winning strategies aligned with technical and financial benchmarks.
    • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, FDRE profile design, project sizing, costing, data analysis, and simulation.
  • Client & Partner Engagement:

    • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including policy makers, DISCOMs, EPC partners, and storage technology providers.
    • Lead commercial negotiations and partnership structuring for project development, co-investments, or joint ventures.
  • Project Structuring & Strategy:

    • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) to design commercially viable energy solutions using hybrid RE and BESS.
    • Understand and interpret regulatory, tariff, and open access policies to de-risk business proposals.
  • Commercial & Financial Analysis:

    • Support preparation of financial models, proposals, and business cases for investment decisions and board approvals.
    • Monitor market trends, policy changes, and competitor strategies in the RTC/FDRE space.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 712 years of experience in business development, strategy, or project development in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of RTC/FDRE/BESS business models, including SECI tenders and power procurement mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting commercial contracts, regulatory orders, and market policies.

Preferred:

  • Experience with standalone or co-located BESS projects.
  • Exposure to C&I open access projects or energy trading platforms.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and software tools (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst, or financial modeling in Excel).
