About the Role

Business Development Head

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and revenue growth for the

    Gear Business

    .
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with

    Commercial Vehicle OEMs

    (Ashok Leyland, Daimler, Isuzu, Tata Motors, etc.).
  • Identify new business opportunities and grow the order book across domestic and global markets.
  • Drive customer negotiations involving pricing, commercial terms, technical discussions, and long-term agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to meet customer demands.
  • Build annual business plans, market penetration strategies, and product growth roadmaps.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and future technology shifts in transmission systems.
  • Lead customer reviews, ensure customer satisfaction, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Guide and mentor BD teams to achieve sales targets and strategic objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15–25 years

    of relevant experience in

    Gear, Transmission, Driveline, or Precision Machined Components

    manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in handling

    Commercial Vehicle OEMs

    (mandatory: Ashok Leyland / Daimler / Isuzu).
  • Strong technical understanding of gear manufacturing processes, costing, APQP, PPAP, and automotive quality systems.
  • Strong network within automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and close high-value strategic deals.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (preferred).
