Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

  • Identify potential clients (importers/exporters, manufacturers, retailers, etc.)
  • Research target markets, industries, and shipping lanes
  • Cold calling, attending trade shows, and networking to find leads
  • Prepare proposals and presentations tailored to clients logistics needs

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Act as the liaison between clients and internal operations teams
  • Provide logistics consultation and custom freight solutions

Sales Strategy & Target Achievement

  • Set sales targets and develop plans to meet them
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with customers
  • Analyze competition and market trends to refine sales tactics

Operational Coordination

  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure delivery of promised services
  • Understand various transport modes (air, sea, road, rail) and how they impact customer needs
  • Provide quotes, track shipments, and assist in troubleshooting delivery issues when needed

Product & Service Development

  • Collaborate with internal teams to design new services or improve existing ones
  • Recommend technology or process improvements based on customer feedback

Market & Industry Analysis

  • Stay updated on international trade regulations, Incoterms, customs procedures, etc.
  • Monitor global trade trends, shipping routes, and freight rates
  • Suggest new markets or trade lanes for expansion

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Track KPIs like revenue growth, client retention, conversion rates
  • Prepare sales forecasts and monthly/quarterly reports for leadership

Key Skills Needed

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Deep knowledge of international logistics & supply chain
  • Sales and marketing expertise
  • Analytical thinking and market research ability
  • CRM and sales reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
