Business Development - ESG(Sustainability) - Mumbai

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic growth plans for India to meet the sales targets and foster account growth
• Manage and grow amforis Indian membership base,
• Support amfori events and activities in India
• Ensure member support responding to inquiries and gathering the feedback from the members to enforce member retention
• Work closely with internal team ( Product development, Marketing and Communications and Advisory& Engagement) in order to ensure member needs are met in the most efficient way .
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to anticipate client needs and industry shifts and provide insights and recommendations allowing amfori to adjust its strategy
• Build an in-depth understanding around Indian businesses to solve and offer solutions to manage risk and build resilience
• Ensure adequate reporting and analysis in order to make informed decision
• Prepare detailed reports on account status, sales performance and client feedback based on the predetermined KPIs

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidate will be able to demonstrate amfori core competencies of cooperating, ownership, integrity and agility.
• Strong background in business development and stakeholder engagement.
• Previous experience in f analyzing, problem solving, adopting a customer-oriented attitude and advising.
• Self-starter, and team player with high attention to detail and professionalism. Must be self-motivated and proactive as well as eager to learn and develop.
• Master’s degree with a business, marketing, economics or related discipline.
• At least 5 – 8 years of work experience
• Proven experience in B2B sales, account management and strategic partnership preferably in FMCG, retail or manufacturing sector.
• Degree or working experience in sustainability area.
• Familiarity with supply chain compliance, human rights due diligence (HRDD), and sustainable sourcing practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work in a matrix workflow and multi-cultural environment.
• Understanding of the Indian business landscape and awareness of national and global sustainability trends and regulations.
• Passion for sustainability, strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset, strong relationship and management skills.
• Strong IT skills, excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and readiness to use amfori’s in- house tools efficiently.
• Excellent command over English both written & verbal is a must, including the ability to communicate effectively. Command over Hindi and a regional language is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel when conditions allow for it.
• The candidate must conduct oneself in a harmonious, ethical and professional manner and must have high integrity.
