Job Description

About the Role

Responsible for shaping and executing the company’s strategic growth initiatives in the energy storage domain. With deep industry experience and a strong network, the incumbent will lead market expansion, strategic partnerships, and commercial execution across utility-scale and C&I segments.


Responsibilities


1. Strategic Market Development


  • Define and implement long-term business development strategies for BESS in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities across grid-scale, hybrid RE+storage, and industrial applications.
  • Lead market entry strategies, including geographic expansion, product positioning, and customer segmentation.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of high-impact BESS projects.


2. Commercial Leadership


  • Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle: opportunity identification, proposal development, negotiations, and closure.
  • Oversee techno-commercial assessments, financial modelling, and risk analysis for BESS projects.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, engineering, and operations teams to structure bankable deals.
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and innovative business models.


3. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships


  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including utilities, DISCOMs, IPPs, EPCs, OEMs, and technology providers.
  • Represent the company in high-level industry forums, government consultations, and investor meetings.
  • Lead strategic alliances with domestic and international players to enhance technology access and market reach.


4. Regulatory & Policy Interface


  • Work closely with the regulatory affairs team to monitor policy developments
  • Engage with MNRE, CERC, SERCs, SECI, and other bodies to influence policy frameworks for energy storage.
  • Support regulatory filings, tariff petitions, and policy consultations to enable project viability.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA or equivalent in Strategy, Marketing, or Finance.
  • Experience:

    15+ years in energy, infrastructure, or renewables, with at least 5–7 years in power sector business development.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale business development initiatives and closing complex deals.
  • Strong understanding of India’s power sector, regulatory environment, and energy transition roadmap.
