Job purpose

You will be responsible for writing complex SQL statements to transform data from one format to another. You will need to quickly pick up the overall process to be able to configure required SQL scripts. You will be using an in house developed application to write SQL queries and configure various client specific configurations. The incumbent needs to have a high level of attention to detail, ability to execute and deliver high quality project deliverables on budget and on time, and multi-task in a dynamic environment. Incumbent should be able to function effectively in a team environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Work on writing SQL scripts that can convert data from external sources such as excel and csv files to standard SQL tables.
• Be able to quickly grasp the knowledge and workings of applications that utilize SQL scripts.
• Be able to handle multiple conversion projects at a single instance showing good ability to multitask.
• Utilize the in-house application to configure client specific formats of external sources and write the SQL script to adhere to the overall standard process.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Function effectively in a team environment
• Consistently meet project expectations and project deadlines
• Adhere to the project and coding standards as necessary. Contribute to the development of such standards where required; also recommend/implement process improvements.
• Refer more complex issues or reconfigurations to senior specialists, escalate relevant matters to concerned on timely basis

Education/Background:

College coursework: B. Tech/B.Sc (Computer Science).

Key skills desired

Must have:

• At least 2 years of experience in IT industry and well-versed on SDLC with working knowledge in analysis, design and development of .NET applications and/or systems
• Strong technical skills on SQL
• Experience with SQL server and writing complex SQL queries.
• Excellent SQL programming skills.
• Complete knowledge on DDL and DML commands.
• Ability to understand and write stored procedures, functions, triggers and other SQL scripts.
• Able to read and create JSON , XML’s & XSD’s
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of organizations

Good to have

• Knowledge on APIs and Programming.
