Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Manage endtoend branch operations including new business, renewals, endorsements, surrenders, payouts, and basic claims related coordination.
  • Scrutinize proposal forms and documentation for completeness, KYC, AML and underwriting requirements; coordinate with sales and underwriting for discrepancies/clarifications.
  • Ensure timely policy issuance, dispatch and tracking of welcome kits, statements, and other customer communications.
  • Handle walkin customers and intermediaries (agents, brokers, partners) for service requests such as address changes, nominee changes, premium receipts, fund switch requests, etc.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service through prompt resolution of queries, complaints, and escalation handling within defined TATs.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of premiums, payouts and other financial transactions in coordination with accounts/finance; ensure banking slips, reconciliations and vouchers are properly maintained.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in core insurance and CRM systems; generate and share regular MIS and operational reports with branch and regional leadership.
  • Support branch audits (internal, external, regulatory) by ensuring proper documentation, record management and closure of audit observations.
  • Implement and adhere to company SOPs, compliance guidelines, IRDAI regulations, and information security norms at the branch.
  • Coordinate with HO/RO operations, underwriting, policy servicing, IT and other support teams for resolving operational issues and system/process enhancements.
  • Support the sales team with operational inputs, issuance status, pending cases, renewal followups, and retention/surrender reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor TATs, error rates and service quality metrics; suggest and help implement process improvements at branch level.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Graduate in any discipline; preference for candidates with

    commerce

    /business/insurance background or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Licentiate from insurance institute).
  • Experience:
    • 14 years of experience in branch operations/customer service in life/general/health insurance, banking, NBFC, or other financial services.
