Job Title: Bodyshop Manager

Department: Bodyshop

Location: Andheri

Reporting To: General Manager / Service -VP

Job Summary:

The Bodyshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bodyshop , ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, customer satisfaction and achievement of departmental targets. This role requires strong technical expertise in automobile body repair, team management skills and the ability to optimize resources for maximum profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall operations of the bodyshop, including scheduling, workflow distribution and timely delivery of vehicles.
  • Supervise and guide a team of bodyshop staff including painters, denters, estimators and service advisors.
  • Ensure accurate vehicle damage assessment, job card preparation and cost estimation for customers and insurance companies.
  • Coordinate with insurance surveyors and customers for approvals and repair updates.
  • Maintain quality control by conducting final inspections before vehicle delivery.
  • Monitor productivity, turnaround time (TAT) and adherence to manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through effective communication, complaint handling and timely delivery.
  • Control departmental expenses, manage inventory of paint, consumables, and spare parts.
  • Prepare and review MIS reports on revenue, productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct training and development for bodyshop staff to upgrade skills and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate/Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of accident repairs, denting, painting and insurance claim processes.
  • Excellent leadership, team management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and DMS/ERP systems used in automobile dealerships.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
  • Workshop productivity and efficiency.
  • Revenue and profitability targets.
  • Insurance claim processing turnaround time.
  • Quality and rework percentage.
