BIM Designer - Electrical

This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Global's Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including BIM designers, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The BIM Designer will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed 3D models of plumbing and firefighting systems for various projects and will be working directly with leading MEP design consulting firms from the UK, USA, Australia and the UAE on flagship projects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation and maintenance of accurate, data-rich 3D BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate MEP BIM efforts with internal teams and external stakeholders, including

  architects, structural engineers, and contractors

  , to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.
• Produce and review high-quality

  shop drawings, construction documentation, and as-built drawings

  , ensuring strict adherence to applicable codes and project guidelines.
• Guide and mentor junior BIM designers and CAD technicians, ensuring best practices in modeling and documentation.
• Conduct comprehensive

  clash detection, resolution, and constructability reviews

  using tools such as Navisworks, Revit, and BIM 360.
• Interpret and integrate various MEP design inputs, including plans, sections, and schematic diagrams, into coordinated models.
• Apply thorough knowledge of building services systems such as

  HVAC, mechanical piping, fire protection, domestic water, medical gases, and drainage

  .
• Stay informed on evolving BIM technologies, modeling practices, and international MEP standards and codes.
• Participate in

  project meetings

  , contribute to coordination workshops, and provide technical input related to MEP system design and BIM execution strategies.
• Support the development of

  BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)

  and ensure alignment with client and project BIM requirements

Qualification and Experience Required:

• BE/BTech mechanical engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field
• ITI/NCTVT certified HVAC/electrical/plumbing draftsman with relevant experience
• 3-5 years of experience in MEP design, specifically focusing on HVAC systems proficiency in BIM methodologies is essential
