Job Description

You will be responsible for maintaining a strong client relationship and ensuring that all banquet specifications are effectively communicated to and executed by all departments. Your role will involve overseeing Banquet events, managing the team, and allocating responsibilities accordingly. It will be crucial for you to coordinate and supervise the execution of all banquets to ensure that clients" specifications are adhered to and that the banquets run smoothly and efficiently. In this position, you will be handling the overall operations of the banquets, meeting with guests to understand their requirements, and supervising the banquet team to ensure that guests" needs are met. Any matter that may affect the interests of the hotel should be promptly brought to the attention of the Management. Ensuring that the team is well-trained in all safety provisions and maintaining seamless co-ordination & co-operation with all departments of Novotel Kolkata Hotel & Residences will be essential for maximizing cooperation, productivity, morale, and guest service. Motivating and developing the team to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and promoting teamwork will be a key aspect of your role. You will also need to ensure that the team is well informed of the department's objectives and policies. Collaborating with internal and external representatives from different departments for executing banquets, preparing departmental annual budgets, and controlling departmental expenditures will be part of your responsibilities. Your tasks will include maintaining and updating the corporate database, entering delegate bookings, identifying optimal and cost-effective resource utilization, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction in dining and beverage consumption. Upholding company policies and standards for Banquet Operations, ensuring prompt and courteous responses to all inquiries, and catering to booking details and requirements as per the standards will be crucial for the efficient operation of banquet services. Your leadership skills will play a vital role in persuading and motivating the team to attain organizational goals. Attributes such as honesty, integrity, ethical behavior, tactfulness, openness, and cultural awareness will also be essential. It will be important for you to delegate tasks clearly, think strategically and creatively, and acknowledge and recognize other people's ideas. Additionally, you will be responsible for the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all Banquet food service functions.
