Backend Developer (Python/Django) – Stock Market Screener & Data Tools

Location: Surat (On-site preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: ₹30,000 – ₹4,000 per month (based on experience)

About Us

Smart Money Club (SMC) is one of India’s fastest-growing stock market education ecosystems, helping thousands of traders and investors build a stress-free, rule-based trading system.

We are now building our in-house Pro Screener, custom dashboards, and advanced data tools for swing traders and we’re looking for a strong backend developer to join our team.

What You Will Build (Your Core Work)

You will work directly with the founders to build:

1. Stock Screener Engine (like Chartink, but custom)

• Fetch EOD OHLCV data via APIs
• Compute SMA, EMA, Avg Volume, 52W High/Low, RS, etc.
• Run custom SMC screening rules
• Expose results via REST APIs to our website

2. Data Pipeline & Storage

• Daily data ingestion for 2,000+ NSE stocks
• Clean and structured database (PostgreSQL)
• Scheduled CRON jobs for data processing
• Indicator calculation logic (Pandas / NumPy)

3. Pro Trading Tools

• Market health dashboard
• Volume analytics
• Trend dashboards
• Automated insights engines

4. Website Integrations

• API layer for front-end dashboards
• Fast, scalable filtering
• Authentication + role-based access (future)

Required Skills (Must-Have)Backend

• Strong Python programming
• Django or Django REST Framework
• Experience building APIs
• Writing clean, modular backend code

Data / Indicators

• Pandas / NumPy
• Understanding of moving averages, volumes, EOD OHLC data
• Basic financial/statistical logic

Database

• PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Designing efficient tables & queries

System Knowledge

• CRON jobs or task schedulers
• Version control (Git)
• Working with third-party APIs

Mindset

• Writes clean code
• Can think in terms of systems, not just scripts
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Accountability + ownership of backend systems

Bonus Skills (Not required, but BIG advantage)

• Experience with NSE/BSE stock market data
• Built a screener/analytics tool before
• React / simple JS for frontend integration
• AWS / Render deployment
• Redis caching
• Financial domain knowledge
