NP: Only Immediate to 15 Days Joiner

Must- experience with on-premises VMware to AWS migration projects

Role Summary

The Migration Architect is responsible for defining and leading the technical approach for migrating applications from on-premises environments to AWS. This role involves assessing existing application landscapes, defining target architectures, and recommending optimal migration strategies that balance performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and security.

The Migration Architect collaborates closely with the Technical Owner, Designers, and various stakeholders to translate discovery insights and tooling outputs into actionable migration strategies and recommendations. This role ensures that migration solutions are aligned with AWS best practices, organizational objectives, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the application discovery process to gather functional, technical, and operational insights.

• Review and validate tool-generated reports for completeness and accuracy.

• Assess application readiness for migration, considering AWS architecture principles, security, compliance, and performance requirements.

• Define the target state architecture for applications being migrated to AWS.

• Analyze the landscape from AWS and application viewpoints, identifying optimal migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, etc.).

• Ensure proposed architectures are cost-efficient, scalable, and aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Provide migration recommendations, including sequencing, tooling approach.

• Work closely with Technical Owner and Designers to ensure alignment between migration strategy and execution.

• Engage with application owners, platform, cyber, and networking teams for arriving the approaches.

Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with significant involvement in cloud migration roles.

• Proven experience in migrating applications to AWS (experience with on-premises VMware to AWS migration projects preferred).

• Strong knowledge of AWS services, networking, security, and cost optimization.

• Experience with application assessment methodologies and migration strategy development.

• Familiarity with migration tooling and automation frameworks.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.

• VMware certifications (optional).
