Job Description

As an Assistant Vice President Financial Accounting at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting processes. Your main responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating very strong accounting & reporting skills - Providing strategic direction and managing Business Partner relationships - Conducting proficient analytical reviews and adding value to customer deliverables - Pre-empting issues or concerns and communicating them to business partners in a timely manner - Ensuring 100% review of all deliverables with attention to detail Your accounting skills will be put to the test as you: - Possess in-depth understanding of IFRS and various aspects of it - Utilize hands-on knowledge of FTP/Saracen - Understand financial reporting requirements such as IFRS/Finrep/GSIB/CE - Excel in excel proficiency and numeric data analysis - Showcase excellent communication skills, both verbal and written In terms of risks & controls, you will be responsible for: - Maintaining documentation per RCA and SOX requirements - Updating and testing SOPs regularly - Adhering to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, and compliance standards - Ensuring robust backup planning for uninterrupted service delivery Additional skills that would be advantageous include: - Knowledge of automation tools like Python, Xceptor - Analytical mindset for resolving ad-hoc queries - Experience with workflow solutions and data visualization tools Your leadership and teamwork abilities will be crucial in: - Managing and leading the ledger close and financial reporting process - Presenting financial reports to senior stakeholders for review - Ensuring adherence to SLAs, robust controls, and compliance requirements - Driving change initiatives within the process - Coordinating effectively with teams in diverse locations Qualifications required for this role: - CA/MBA with 10+ years of qualification experience - Experience in Financial Services Industry in ledger close and reporting processes - Proficiency in IFRS/Local GAAP and financial statement closure procedures - Strong technical understanding of accounting principles - Experience in interacting with auditors and assurance/compliance reviews At HSBC, you will have the opportunity to achieve more and contribute significantly to the organization's success.
