Key Responsibilities

• Lead automation strategy for Guidewire programs, ensuring automation is aligned with business-critical insurance workflows.
• Design, develop, and maintain JavaScript/TypeScript-based automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO) tailored for Guidewire applications.
• Develop reusable libraries/utilities for Guidewire UI, API, and integration layer automation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure shift-left testing across Guidewire releases.
• Collaborate with Guidewire developers, QA, and business SMEs to identify automation opportunities and maximize coverage.
• Perform hands-on coding, code reviews, and framework enhancements.
• Troubleshoot automation issues specific to Guidewire workflows, integrations, and upgrades.
• Mentor and guide junior testers to upskill them on JavaScript-based automation for Guidewire.
• Provide stakeholders with dashboards and reports on automation health, defect leakage, and coverage.
  

Required Skills

• Proven hands-on experience automating Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter).
• Strong coding expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, or WebdriverIO.
• Solid understanding of Guidewire architecture, UI flows, API services, and integrations.
• Experience with API automation tools (RestAssured, Postman/Newman, or SuperTest).
• Strong knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI).
• Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, Agile delivery, and test strategy design.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams while remaining deeply technical.
  

Good To Have

• Performance testing knowledge with JMeter or k6.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud testing and automation in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud test platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm).
• ISTQB or advanced automation certifications.
