We are a fast-growing e-commerce company specializing in camper van lifestyle products. We're looking for a skilled
Automation & Integration Engineer
to be the operational force behind our business. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining the critical connections between our various SaaS platforms—from our e-commerce store and inventory management systems to our shipping and accounting tools.You'll be the go-to person for automating key workflows, ensuring our data is accurate, and empowering our team with reliable, real-time information. Design and Implement Integrations:
Develop and maintain reliable API integrations between our platforms, including Shopify, Amazon, and our 3PLs (third-party logistics providers).
Build Automated Workflows:
Create and manage automated pipelines for order fulfillment, inventory synchronization, and data reporting using a mix of code and integration tools.
Debug and Maintain Systems:
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing integrations to ensure stability and data integrity.
Collaborate with the Team:
Work closely with team members to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Requirements
- API & Automation Expertise: You need a strong command of API integration, including REST APIs and authentication protocols. You must be able to design and maintain automated workflows that connect various e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Amazon, and shipping providers.
- Programming Proficiency: Solid skills in either JavaScript (Node.js) or Python are required for building custom integrations and handling data. You should also be comfortable with SQL for data querying and a variety of data formats like JSON and CSV.
- Integration Tools: Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms like n8n, Make, or Zapier is essential.
- Systems Thinking: The ideal candidate can map out complex processes end-to-end and has a strong grasp of error handling, logging, and monitoring to ensure systems run smoothly.
Desired Skills & Personal Traits
- E-commerce Knowledge: It's a bonus if you understand e-commerce concepts like FBA vs. 3PL, order routing, and product structures (SKU/UPC)
- Cloud & Security: Basic knowledge of cloud hosting (AWS, GCP) and security best practices (API key management) is a plus
- Problem-Solver & Builder: You should be a tech enthusiast who enjoys debugging and building practical, stable solutions. This role is best for someone with a startup or agency background who is used to wearing many hats
- Effective Communicator: You must be able to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate effectively across teams
