Automation Engineer (Playwright/Java)

JAVA & Playwright

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test frameworks using

  Playwright

  for UI and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for

  REST API testing

  leveraging REST Assured, Postman, and related tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using

  Jenkins

  and

  Maven

  .
• Create, organize, and execute automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Perform backend validations through advanced

  SQL queries

  , joins, and stored procedures.
• Work with

  TestNG

  for test organization, data-driven testing, and parallel execution.
• Partner closely with developers and QA to ensure code quality, identify bugs early, and maintain project timelines.

Required Skills & Proficiency

• Programming:

  Strong knowledge of

  Java

  (OOP, Collections, Streams, Exception handling) 

• Test Frameworks:

  TestNG

  (Annotations, Data providers, Parallel execution) 

• Version Control:

  Git

  (Branching, Merging, Conflict resolution) 

• API Testing:

  REST principles, HTTP methods, Authentication, JSON/XML

• UI Testing:

  DOM, CSS/XPath selectors, basic JavaScript 

• Database:

  SQL queries, Joins, Stored procedures

• Tools:

  Playwright

  , REST Assured, Postman, Jenkins

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6+ years of experience in test automation, with at least 4+ years working hands-on with

  Playwright

  .
• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments.
• Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools.
