Job Description

Responsibilities:

Plan, supervise, and execute testing activities for molded and chrome-plated plastic components (e.g., adhesion, gloss, thickness, environmental, dimensional, etc.).
Review and interpret test methods such as ASTM, ISO, IS, and OEM-specific standards.
Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of lab equipment (e.g., spectrophotometers, cross-cut testers, gloss meters, thickness gauges, salt spray chambers, etc.).
Maintain accurate test records and prepare test reports, analysis, and presentations for internal and customer requirements.
Lead and guide lab technicians in test planning, execution, and safety protocols.
Handle customer audits and visits related to lab capabilities.
Coordinate with production, QA, and R&D teams for continuous product and process improvement.
Implement and monitor ISO/IATF 16949, ISO 17025 (if applicable) systems in the lab.
Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for test failures or deviations.
Ensure adherence to EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) and good housekeeping practices.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of plastic molding processes and chrome plating quality parameters.
Good understanding of material testing, chemical analysis, and coating performance tests.
Familiarity with quality systems like IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 17025.
Proficiency in MS Office, lab software/tools, and data interpretation.
Effective team management, documentation, and communication skills.
