Job Description

PitchBook’s Private Market team performs team performs web-based research and utilizes technology tools to capture hard-to-find data on private capital markets, including private equity (PE), venture capital (VC) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This information allows Pitchbook’s customers such as venture capital firms, private equity firms, limited partners, investment banks, law firms, and accounting firms to discover emerging companies, conduct research on potential investment opportunities, and gain a competitive edge in investment decision-making and negotiations. 
The Associate Team Leader manages activities for a team of 10+ research associates. The position will oversee the output and quality of the research performed by the team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of research associates by providing clear direction, establishing SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation 

  • Provide coaching and training to develop necessary technical skills and content knowledge

  • Maintain a regular cadence of 1:1s with each team member to recap performance, identify improvement opportunities and support career development.

  • Lead effective research planning, analyze team performance and produce monthly reports for Senior leadership 

  • Ensure timely delivery of research, meeting SLAs and quality requirements

  • Work closely with stakeholders in Mumbai and Seattle to identify and source clean-up projects and provide them with monthly updates. Requirements

  • Understanding of Pitchbook’s research methodologies 

  • Possess thorough knowledge of private markets ecosystem 

  • Provide actionable feedback to dataset leads based on projects yields to will help them streamline their process 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Liberal Arts, Management or Science 

  • 3+ years of professional work experience; prior team management experience would be a plus 

  • Flexibility with multiple processes and always endeavour to complete all workflows with high quality 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in written materials for effective inter-office correspondence 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, and other project management tools such as Asana 

  • Keen and meticulous attention to detail 

  • Incessant curiosity and innovative thinking 

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 

  • Dedication to continuous process improvement 

  • Interest in Private Markets
