Role Summary: The Associate Professor in Anatomy is responsible for delivering high-quality education in human anatomy to undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate students, conducting research, guiding junior faculty and students, and contributing to academic administration and curriculum development. Key Responsibilities: 1. Teaching & Academic Duties Conduct theory and practical classes in Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Histology, and Neuroanatomy. Supervise and assess cadaver dissection and microscopic slide sessions. Use modern teaching methodologies (PPTs, models, digital tools). Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in academic and research activities. Prepare and evaluate internal assessment and university examination papers. 2. Research and Publications Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of anatomy. Guide postgraduate and Ph.D. students in their thesis/dissertation work. Publish regularly in indexed national and international medical journals. Apply for grants and research projects as per institutional policy. 3. Administrative and Departmental Roles Assist the Head of Department (HOD) in managing departmental activities and compliance. Maintain records as per NMC guidelines, including logbooks, attendance, and practical evaluations. Coordinate with the Anatomy Museum and Dissection Hall for upkeep and innovation. Participate in curriculum development and academic audits. 4. Ethical and Professional Conduct Adhere to the highest standards of ethics in teaching and research. Engage in continuous medical education (CME) and professional development programs. Foster a positive and inclusive academic environment. Qualifications: Essential: MBBS + MD in Anatomy from an NMC-recognized institution. Experience: Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, including 4 years as Assistant Professor (as per NMC norms). Desirable: Publications in indexed journals; experience with modern teaching tools and research methodologies. Skills & Competencies: Strong command over anatomical sciences. Effective teaching and communication skills. Research aptitude and academic leadership. Familiarity with NMC norms and academic accreditation standards.
