The Assistant Technical Superintendent supports the Technical department in managing the day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels. This includes monitoring vessel performance, supporting planned maintenance, contributing to repair/drydocking planning, and ensuring compliance with the Company s Safety Management System and maritime regulations. The role serves as a learning and support function, preparing the incumbent for more senior technical management roles.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Technical Support Compliance Monitor the technical and operational performance of assigned vessels.
Be adequately conversant with the Company s Safety Management System (SMS) and actively participate in its implementation.
Follow up on shipboard quality assurance system requirements as directed by the Manager Technical and Marine.
The Assistant Technical Superintendent is working directly under the Technical Fleet Manager s supervision. The Assistant Technical Superintendent is accountable to the Technical Fleet Manager and/or to an allocated Technical personnel.
Contribute to the development and revision of technical procedures and manuals.
Repair and Maintenance Support Assist Technical Superintendents in planning repairs, dry-docking, and surveys.
Track pending maintenance jobs and ensure timely communication with vessel crews.
Support collection and analysis of maintenance data and downtime reports.
Insurance, Claims Certification Assist in follow-up of insurance and claim-related matters in coordination with the relevant Technical Superintendent.
Support documentation and recordkeeping for certification and statutory compliance.
Cost Control Procurement Support purchasing activities by tracking requisitions, comparing vendor offers, and preparing cost estimates.
Assist in maintaining budget logs and cost control reports for technical expenditures.
Shipboard Support Safety Provide operational support to shipboard teams regarding technical issues, spare part follow-up, or regulatory updates.
Promote onboard safety awareness, environmental compliance, and energy efficiency efforts

Education requirements
Bachelor s degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent
Language requirements: English
Background and experience 4 years of experience in the marine industry, preferably as:
Technical capacity in the marine field
Familiarity with maritime regulations, technical ship operations, and purchasing processes.
Working knowledge of planned maintenance systems (PMS), certification standards, and marine repair cycles.
Good sense of responsibility and self-motivation
Good command of the English language
Knowledge about purchasing and budget cost control.

| Class Flag Documentation Support: Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Class and Flag documentation; supports preparation for inspections.
| Dry Dock Support: Supports planning and logistics for dry docking preparation of checklists, specifications, and vendor follow-ups.
| Spares Procurement Coordination: Coordinates with procurement for spares/consumables and monitors delivery timelines under supervision.
