Job Details Position Title: Assistant Professor – Medical Devices Location: Kothrud, Pune Department: Pharmaceutical Sciences School: Health Science and Technology Reporting to: Program Director 2. Job Purpose The Assistant Professor will play a pivotal role in academic delivery, interdisciplinary research, and innovation within the domain of Medical Devices. This position supports the mission of the School of Health Science and Technology by fostering excellence in teaching, research, and service relevant to the rapidly growing medical device sector. 3. Key Responsibilities Academic Responsibilities Deliver lectures, practicals, and tutorials in Medical Devices and related areas. Participate in curriculum development and review aligned with current industry trends. Set, supervise, and evaluate examinations and assessments. Mentor and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students. Organize academic events such as workshops, guest lectures, and seminars. Research & Development Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed national and international journals. Engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary research activities. Write and submit research proposals to funding agencies. Supervise student research projects and encourage scholarly writing. Strategic & Institutional Contribution Support the implementation of the School’s strategic initiatives. Contribute to the enhancement of institutional reputation through academic excellence. Participate in student admissions, alumni engagement, and outreach programs. Industry & External Engagement Develop academic and research collaborations with medical device industries. Participate in professional forums, national/international conferences, and academic societies. Facilitate industry visits, internships, and placement support for students. 4. Person Specification Required Qualifications and Experience Ph.D. in Medical Devices or a closely related discipline. Ph.D. must be awarded by a university/institution ranked in the Top 50 NIRF (India) . Minimum prior experience working as an Assistant Professor or equivalent academic position. Strong academic publication record and evidence of funded research is desirable. Desirable Attributes Effective communication and mentoring skills. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments. Commitment to innovation in teaching and research. Awareness of evolving trends in the medical devices industry. 5. Working Relationships Internal: Dean, PD, Faculty members, Research teams, Administrative staff, Students. External: Medical device companies, research institutions, accreditation bodies, and academic networks. 6.
