Assistant Manager Purchase

Department:

Job Purpose:

To manage mechanical and capex purchases efficiently, reduce costs, develop reliable vendors, and ensure timely availability of materials for smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle end-to-end procurement of mechanical items, machinery, spares, and capex-related materials.
Ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost-effectiveness in all purchases.
Reduce purchase costs for key mechanical items such as bearings, V-belts, and barrels through effective negotiation and vendor management.
Identify and develop new and alternate suppliers for mechanical and critical materials.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliability, quality, and timely supply.
Convert advance payment vendors to open credit (minimum 2 vendors per month) and improve credit periods.
Ensure no production or sales loss due to shortage of critical mechanical items or consumables.
Coordinate with production and stores teams for proper inventory planning.
Follow company procurement policies and maintain proper documentation.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and audit requirements.
