Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  1. Intellectual Property Rights- Approvals and legal screening of all art works/ creatives/ TVCs/ digital videos/ catalogues/brochures etc. to mitigate risk and reduce exposure of infringement. Ensure compliance with ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India), Consumer Protection Act, IT Laws and other relevant advertising regulations.
  2. Contracts- Negotiation, drafting and finalizing contracts, addendums, SOWs, NDAs, MOUs and other documents including but not limited to engagement letters, service level agreements, notices and other business related agreements. Maintain record of the executed contracts and other legal documents.
  3. Supplementary documentation- Ensure that all terms and conditions under all commercial documents issued by the organization are specific to the scope of work and reduce risk exposure. Work closely with respective business teams and provide support and opinion from legal and compliance perspective.
  4. Compliance Management Tracking & monitoring of compliance through online tools, conducting audits to independently make real time assessment of applicable compliances within the organization. To ensure that all the concerned teams are undertaking and complying with their set of statutory compliances and the company as a whole is not in breach of any necessary compliance prescribed by law of the land.
  5. Litigation- Drafting/vetting documents for litigation matters. Maintaining litigation tracker up to date with constant follow-ups with the external counsels for the case status and endeavor to mitigate risk to discourage litigation.

Preferred candidate profile

a. LL.B. from a reputed institution.

b. Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house, with a significant portion involving IPR and media law.

c. Deep understanding of copyright, trademark and advertising laws.

d. Familiarity with talent rights, publicity rights and digital content regulations.

e. Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills.

f. Ability to work independently and handle multiple deadlines in a creative and time sensitive environment.
