Job Description

Role Overview

Assistant Manager - Industrial Relations & Employee Services

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day
industrial relations
at the plant, ensuring a harmonious work environment.
Liaise with
labour unions, government authorities, and external agencies
on IR matters.
Ensure
statutory compliance
under labour laws (Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour Act, etc.).
Drive
employee welfare initiatives
such as health, safety, and workplace well-being programs.
Handle disciplinary procedures, grievances, and dispute resolution in a fair and timely manner.
Support manpower planning, contract labour management, and smooth onboarding of workforce.
Prepare and maintain required statutory records, reports, and audit documentation.
Partner with HR team in implementing employee engagement programs, training, and retention initiatives.
Support management in negotiations and long-term settlements.

Qualifications & Experience

MBA / MSW / PG Diploma in HR, IR, or Personnel Management.
3-7 years of experience in
Industrial Relations / HR
within the
automotive / engineering / manufacturing industry
.
Strong understanding of
labour laws, compliance frameworks, and industrial relations practices
.

Skills & Competencies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across levels.
Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage workforce dynamics effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems.
Fluency in local language preferred.
