Assistant Manager - Electronics and Instrumentation

Purpose/Objective

To manage the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems, ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the plant's automation, control, and power distribution systems. This role is crucial for preventing electrical failures and ensuring precise process control.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- E&I maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all electrical equipment, control panels, sensors, and instrumentation. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize failures. - Troubleshooting: Lead the E&I team in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and control system issues, including PLC, SCADA, and VFD failures. - Project execution: Supervise and execute E&I-related projects, including new installations, upgrades, and modifications to plant systems. - Safety and compliance: Enforce safety regulations related to electrical work, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures. Ensure all E&I systems comply with relevant industry and statutory standards. - Team management: Supervise the E&I team, provide technical guidance, and conduct training to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to best practices. - Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on equipment health, maintenance logs, and project progress. Maintain accurate documentation of all E&I systems and schematics.

Qualifications and Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. - Experience: 5-8 years of experience in E&I maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting, with specific knowledge of control systems and automation. - Skills: Strong technical knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and industrial automation. Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and schematics is essential. - Certifications: Relevant certifications in industrial automation or electrical safety are desirable.
